Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.
City officials said they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the public for tips.
An important political figure said the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
